INFLUENCE: Mastering Conversations that Matter and Move – Fall 2016

Expand your personal influence with integrity.

Register for INFLUENCE if you want to expand your personal influence or are working to resolve issues similar to these:
• Developing a greater level of trust with staff;
• Changing the attitude of employees who believe they already have all the answers;
• Diffusing resistance to working cooperatively within your team, department or organization;
• Remaining positive while communicating your expectations of others.

Participating in INFLUENCE means you are part of a small, yet diverse learning cohort dedicated to becoming more effective and personally influential. Cohort interaction focuses on learning how the unconscious mind, nonverbal behavior and emotional intelligence can expand your effectiveness. You experiment with and fine-tune the practical application of conversation skills and innovative communication strategies to resolve current issues. You benefit from your own practical experience as well as the experience of others in the cohort.
WHEN: 4 Tuesdays – Oct. 25, Nov. 1, 8, 15 from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m.
WHERE: Springboard Northwest, downtown Corvallis
WHO: Cohort limited to 7 participants
FEE: $295 (includes workbook)

SEMINAR SESSION OBJECTIVES
Session I — October 25, 2016: Your Personal Influence Profile
• Define what it means to be personally influential.
• Clarify current areas of influence and the areas in which you desire to be more influential.
• Select at least one skill or key idea to put into practice immediately.

Session II — November 1, 2016: The Influence of Listening & Awareness
• Assess the effectiveness of your current approaches to listening.
• Describe how shifting a current listening approach could expand your influence.
• Select one listening and responding behavior to put into practice immediately.

Session III — November 8, 2016: The Influence of Interpersonal Dynamics
• Select one idea or technique capable of expanding your awareness of how you interact with others.
• Identify one specific nonverbal behavior to put into practice immediately.

Session IV — November 15, 2016: The Influence of Accountability
• Describe how taking responsibility relates to personal influence.
• Identify one current situation that could be resolved by a change in perspective.
• Reassess current areas of influence; develop your action plan for improving productivity.
